USO, Sept. 6 2005, Walter Reed Army Medical Center

Clay Miles hosted, Brian Jett guested, Mike Diesel featured, I headlined.

We asked the USO lady about what words or topics to avoid. She said don't make fun of the military, but that if we said a word these soldiers hadn't heard at bootcamp or in combat, she'd be impressed.

Brian Jett has a bone disorder, so he walks with a crutch. He goes onstage and says, "excuse me while I put down my crutch," and puts his pint of Jack Daniels on the stool in front of the base chaplain and the military police. The USO lady runs out to me and Mike. "Is that real Jack Daniels?" Clay says, "Oh, no, that's a prop. He uses that all the time." Quick thinking, Clay.

The crowds and the USO lady loved the show. Diesel gave out copies of his DVD and he and I gave autographs. USO is sending us a letter of thanks from the USO commandant. Groovy.

The National Museum of Health and Medicine is my favorite little-known DC tourist destination. The bullet that killed Lincoln with tools and skull fragments, live leeches, a leg in formaldehyde. That's where I take tourists who ask to see something cool that most tourists don't see.

my bf loved looking at Lincolns's skull! he just told me that they are planning to close it down though because of lack of funding. AKA: all the money is going to Iraq. boo. that place is awesome. I love the babies in jars.
