IMDB Hack For Finding Great Movies Cheap

IMDB Hack For Finding Great Movies Cheap
  1. Go to IMDB's Top 250 movies list.  Copy it to your PC.
  2. Delete all movies you've already seen.  Duh.
  3. Delete all movies less than three years old.  It takes about three years for a movie's IMDB rating to stabilize after all the waves of advertising and hype for the theater release, DVD release, and staggered release dates around the world.  This also improves the chances that you can see the movie for free on television or in the bargain bin if you rent.
  4. Go get 'em.  I'll have Tivo search for the top five films on my list and two or three times a week a great film will be waiting for me at home.
Of course, you're not seeing the latest films, but you're also avoiding hype.  Besides, if you haven't seen it yet, it's new to you.

I've seen phenomenal foreign films I never would have known to find if it hadn't been for this method.  99.5% of the films I've seen using this method were worth every expense and effort I took to get it.  I didn't like The Quiet Man.  Sorry.
