Not a question, but an anecdote:
Four years ago, we bought my sister and brother-in-law a Tivo for Christmas. They'd said it sounded neat but wasn't something they really needed. Within one week of having it, of course, they knew they couldn't live without it.
Every Christmas morning since, after the gifts are unwrapped, we sit around the fireplace very contented and say, "What a great Christmas." "Yes," my brother-in-law says, "it was. But nothing can ever top the Christmas we got Tivo."
