Made oatmeal cookie recipe as per Alton Brown's cookbook "I'm Just Here For More Food"... except that I forgot the oats. Nine minutes later I open the oven to rotate the baking pans and find two pans of sugary butter napalm. I pour the oats into the mixing bowl, mix them in with the napalm and bake again.
Best cookies I've ever made.
Accidentally toasting the sugar and butter gave the cookies a rich, almondy tone like biscotti. I may do it again on purpose and put the butter and sugar in a Pyrex pitcher in the preheating oven while I prep the rest of the ingredients.
