I'm here to evaluate your Church's patriotism.

Wow.

caryabend found this and put it on his LJ. Wanted to put my comment here too.

The Bush campaign is asking for volunteers to "serve as a coordinator in (their) place of worship."

That'll be a fun Sunday:

"I'm here to serve as Bush Campaign coordinator in your place of worship."

Why would Bush want reps on the ground in churches?
What message are they sending?
What information are they collecting?
What is the relationship between faith-based initiative money and the role and location of these reps?
When do I get to send a rep from my church to coordinate activities at the White House?

Democracies get what they deserve.
California deserves Arnold Schwarzenegger.
America deserves George W. Bush, because we're close-minded, self-righteous assholes.

But tomorrow is another day.

Faith-Based Initiative Funding only goes to Christian groups. Why? Well, other faiths either haven't applied because it wouldn't be in keeping with their principles, or else they won't teach abstinence only.

Think for a minute that the Bush reps are going to anyone but Christians? I'd dare one to spend five minutes at FSG.

Most Americans don't deserve George W. Bush. Most of us didn't vote for him, remember? I'd sooner vote for a yellow dog.

Yeah, we do. Either for voting for him or not voting for someone else, most of us deserve the outcome that we get.

d00d, I did vote for someone else.

What's a girl gotta do, lead a torch-waving mob? Say, there's an idea!

Yeah, there's that.

You're aware of your options. I respect you for that. Rarer than you may think.
