MBG, Boss Micro BR and laptop

1) MBG (Most Beautiful Girl - Charlie Rich): I'm spending some time learning this song before I jump into the recording. Charlie Rich was jazz-trained, so the power chords to represent the chords he's playing aren't explicit (look at http://www.cowboylyrics.com/tabs/rich-charlie/most-beautiful-girl-2505.html - WTF is Gm(maj7)?).

I know in my head how I want to use Kiss's "Rock And Roll All Nite" as the intro. I want to adapt the riff Kiss uses to lead into the chorus of R&RAN to lead into MBG, but I don't know how I want to do it yet.

2) Boss Micro BR vs. Laptop for recording:

I don't know how to use the Boss Micro BR yet. I know how to use the laptop.

The Boss Micro BR records in stereo, important for drums. The Boss Micro BR also lets you program a stereo drum track with sample tracks loaded on the recorder. I have not learned how to do this.

The laptop only records mono.

The Boss Micro records with no latency. The laptop records with MUCHO variable latency, which means an hour or more of editing within each track.

I already know how to use the laptop.

I think the following method balances hope, sanity and fun:
1) Lay a scat track (aka verbalize all the parts like a crazy street person) over a metronome beat on the BR
2) Learn how to replace the metronome with a programmed drum track from the BR
3) Add guitars and vocals one at a time
4) Bounce the tracks off to Audacity when I need to empty one of the four tracks to record the next source.
5) Mix in Audacity.

Any of you wanna take time to spend time with me and the BR to help me succeed in the above method, please volunteer. Danke mein damen und herren!

Take responsibility for what you are responsible for, and take no responsibility for what you are...

Today's random affirmation: Take responsibility for what you are responsible for, and take no responsibility for what you are not responsible for.

Yesterday I started recording every one of my expenses.
$300.84 vacation car rental
$35 highway toll transciever renewal
$22.85 groceries
$31.54 guitar repair
$40 restaurant
That $40 was two burgers, a mixed drink, a soda and tip. $40.

Still can't get anyone to return my calls to mow my lawn. People ask me for money by knocking on my door, stopping me in the street, blocking me on my way into the grocery store, calling me on the phone, broadcasting guilt-trip advertisements, sending me mail and spamming me, but I can't get a lawn service.

I only give money on my terms. 44 minutes of my salary every week goes to Habitat for Humanity. They disclose how much of their money goes to the poor versus overhead, they don't knock on my door, stop me in the street, block me on my way into the grocery store, call me on the phone, broadcast guilt-trip advertisements, send me mail or spam me.

Those are my terms. Almost no one meets them.
