Reflections on Stephen King's "Song of Susannah":
P. 469, Para 2: We comedians, though we fight with each other, are bound together by fear. The fear we turn to laughter, the laughter that helps others fight their fear. And if the price is blood, then we will pay it. Say hallelujah, amen.
P. 532, Para 1: The joke of performing comedy is the audience thinks I'm in charge of what I say and do. All of them, from the semi-literate drunks to my fellow comedians in the back of the room. And that's a real hoot. Because I'm not.
