Asperger video I found insightful

Asperger video I found insightful: http://community.livejournal.com/asperger/1410881.html

My response on YouTube to the author:

Thank you for posting this. The video raised meaningful questions about how people define communication.

I believe that the meaning of communication is the response the sender gets from making the communication. So I guess if the meaning you get from interacting with the water is the response of the water, then the response of the water is the meaning of your interaction with it.

But my understanding of communication is different from my understanding of language. If I knock down a tree in the middle of the forest, I have communicated with the tree, but is knocking down a tree an act of language? I would have to be able to ask the tree.

(Anonymous): No.

I've never been diagnosed, and I don't think I would be diagnosed as having Asperger's, but I'd put 20 down on a bet the it you picked three therapists and had them evaluate me at least one would define me as neurologically atypical.
