Breakfast cereal with 55 grams of protein

This post inspired me to determine a way to get my protein at breakfast without eating a protein bar. A lot of the protein bar ingredients are cereal ingredients anyway.

I'm several years post-op, so you should probably amend this if your surgery was recent.

I mix 5-grain oatmeal, granola, Total cereal, and some dried cherries (low glycemic index). I add some water about 3/4 up the cereal and nuke it. Then I cover it with plain yogurt and add two scoops of whey protein and stir.

Yield: Breakfast cereal with 55 grams of protein

But how does it taste?

Yummy. I'm eating it now. There's 44g of sugar in the vanilla yogurt so it's pretty sweet, but I've made it with plain yogurt too.

are you using Fage yogurt? That stuff is higher protein and is like eating sour cream -- total CRACK in yogurt form.

basilwhite: Stand and deliver the yogurt!

I know not of the Fage yogurt. Searching the interweb... Ah, the elusive Trader Joe's. I will add it to my booty list for my next excursion to Reston.

Yarr!
