Open mics have been good for the old ego.

I just returned home from my ~6th music open mic in my life. At the last four people have asked for my card and offered me work. Apparently bass players are rare these days. I don't get it. Any thoughts?

Good Bass Players even more so. Everyone wants to play lead guitar, very few people choose to be the foundation because its not seen as a "glamour" job. A good Bass Player can work as much as he/she wants to.

I still think ninjas killed the bass players.
