Election night at the Folk School

On election night, the Folk School staff told us they had no television. They're like a lot of Eastern Europe: they skipped 20th Century technology and went from tin cans straight to cell phones. They offered us a radio, but instead we used their wi-fi internet connection and huddled around the warm glow of the laptop.

I ruined the fun by explaining to the people watching the returns how the election was over before the news explained why the election was over.

I didn't think of spoiling people's fun because elections aren't fun for me. People die on these outcomes. 4,000 Service members died on the last one.

I'm happy, but the release from anxiety blinds all other emotions for me.

YOU are a spoilsport.

Hope the country made the right choice. Bill contracted yesterday.
