I'm done asking permission.

I miss having an urgent need to write every day, but I don't feel like writing deeply right now anyway. I'm working on a music project, and it's the first creative work that's given me any excitement since I quit comedy.

I've created metal rearrangements of country music standards, and I'm holding auditions for guitar and drums to form a band. Kind of an Alice Cooper plays Hee Haw thing. This is what it takes to cure my boredom.

I see local bands and they all seem to passive-aggressively ask audiences for attention, which make me curious as to how an audience would respond to someone to takes their attention without permission or apology. Also I found that comedy performance has vulnerability to the audiovisual behavior attention and focus from the crowd.

With comedy, I couldn't drown out audience distractions with volume. I think I'd like to drown out audience distractions with volume. I'd think I'd like to force some people to pay attention.

More later.

People are too polite. I've been dragged to so-so performances of professionals and the folks I was with leaped to their feet for a standing ovation at the end. But it wasn't even second curtain call worthy. An experienced audience won't stand for a lousy show. They stand for the intermission and head for the exit.
