A colleague at work wants to move from administrative support to analysis. I plan to support her move by offering my help to find her replacement.
I'm also trying to support intergovernmental harmony by putting tracker numbers from both departments into one tracker, so when we call #DEPARTMENT we quote #DEPARTMENT's tracking number so they can find what we want. Might save a lot of taxpayer salary dollars and workhours. However, we won't get in trouble for failing to make this improvement, therefore no one will maintain my effort.
Heed my warning, America. Washington does what Washington gets in trouble for not doing. If you want X, raise your expectations to include X. Make trouble for not getting X, then you'll get it. SECRET: We want you to make trouble. Making trouble reduces the threat to us if X has negative impact, so making trouble gives us the job security to do what you want, much of which is stuff that we want. If you don't like it, fill out a job application or run for office. That's what we did.
I'm slacking on the Wii fit. Admitting I have a problem is the first step, followed by several minutes of aerobic ones.
