Moving van is late in arriving. I call, asking if the van was the one involved in a horrible accident earlier this morning. I don't care about my stuff, I want to know if the crew is OK. Many phone calls happen in a very short time. I get a phone call from the driver. They stopped for coffee and are on their way. They will be about a half an hour late. I repeat my directions, so they can find the house.

Lesson- if you are going to be late, call and let the person directly involved know what's up. The time window was between 8 and 9 am. Now folks up and down the East coast know they stopped for coffee and were late. If they had just called first, their tardy arrival would not have been broadcast to all and sundry.
