Miss Hui's Singing Lesson, 4/22/2010

"Keep your throat out of the way."

"Yawn to open your mouth. When you're not sure what note to sing, you sing nasal. I don't like that sound. You don't find the pitch with your nose, you find the pitch with your ear."

"Don't push and pull the sound, push the voice out, always pushing."

"To stay in pitch, sing like you're making the piano sound in pitch, like you're keeping the piano in tune, like you're doing the piano a favor."

"Avoid singing with gravely voice by flowing each note to the next. You seem to want control. Flow is a good word for you."

Homework: "Bring Him Home," Les Miserables
