Ms. Hui's voice lesson, 2010-07-01

"Sing popular songs with natural speech, not inflected. Opera is more phonics, but popular songs are more speaking with a pitch."

"Stand on balls of your feet."

"Keep your jaw down as much as possible."

"End the long note at the end of a song by cutting off the air with your stomach (maybe by inhaling), not by using your throat, and blend with head voice for the last note."

Homework: Find sheet music for "If I Were a Rich Man" from Fiddler on The Roof and "Edelweiss" from The Sound of Music."
