Wed., Oct. 27 we audition a guy on drums. Squee! Murph is still studying the drum parts to audition on drums: my hope is that the new guy'll work out and Murph will serve as primary board operator/ secondary drums. We're developing "defense-in-depth" so that we can play one man down, so Murph maintaining chops on the drums makes that happen, as I second for Marc and Thomas, Thomas seconds for Andy, Marc seconds for me, and we can hire a board operator off the street.
While we're auditioning for a drummer, we rehearse to "drum-and-click" mixes of the songs. To improve this playback mixes, Marc rebuilt the drums for San Antonio Rose, Crazy Train, and Blitzkreig Bonanza, so I figured, let's use the improved drums in the actual masters.
The parts haven't changed, the drums just sound better. I've remastered and published San Antonio Rose at http://www.basilwhite.com/deathbillies/Deathbillies%20-%20San%20Antonio%20Rose%20via%20Santa%20Monica.mp3 - now to do the same for Crazy Train and Blitzkreig.
